Speaking from experience, I've often felt the pull of overwhelm and feeling like there's never enough time in the day.
I'd feel frustrated at the end of the day because I hadn't lived up to that imaginary ideal version of myself, karate kicking my way through my To Do list. I repeat: Imaginary.
Being someone who isn't just going to sit there and take it, I've experimented with different ways to get on top of my work, so that it doesn't get on top of me.
I want this for you too, so that you can make the impact you're here to make as a woman leader.
Beat Overwhelm, Boost Your Productivity and Get Back Your Time
Here are 4 things that have worked for me that you can start doing today to give yourself a productivity boost and get back your time.
🍀 Plan + Prepare
I love to say that Victory loves Preparation! Get clarity on what needs doing, how you’re going to do it and when.
Be honest with yourself about what you need to keep, delegate, park and eliminate.
By doing this, you’re helping yourself, your team and your clients.
🍀 Eat that Frog
Overwhelm kicks in when you keep putting off that big important task and stick to the low value tasks while other things land on your plate.
Then when it’s crunch time, the important task has become much bigger and scarier than it really is and you don’t know where to start.
So before it gets to that stage, start with the big important thing first and chip away at it till it’s done.
I guarantee you that results come from taking small but meaningful steps.
🍀 Set Boundaries Early
This will avoid unpleasant surprises, blame games and stress down the line.
Your days are probably filled with meetings alongside planning and implementing.
This is all while keeping your team motivated and on track to deliver results.
This means you need boundaries and by setting them early, you’re all on the same page and you know what to expect.
🍀 Do Small Things You Enjoy!
Remember that we’re here to be productive and prevent burnout!
That means you’ll want to allow yourself to enjoy the little things in life, however that looks for you.
Pepper these throughout your day or week. You’ll get that boost you need to feel (and stay) productive.
